Privacy Policy — Quran

Last updated: 17 July 2026

Quran ("the app") is developed by Kynex Ventures. This page explains what information the app accesses, what it does with it, and what it never does. The short version: the app has no user accounts, shows no ads, and does not run analytics or crash-reporting of any kind. Everything you read, bookmark, or configure stays on your device.

Information the app accesses

DataWhyWhere it goes
Location (coarse/fine) To calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction for where you are. Used entirely on your device for the calculation. Your coordinates are also sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service once, to look up a human-readable place name (e.g. "Lahore, Pakistan") to display in the app — this is the only case where location leaves your device, and it's covered by OpenStreetMap Foundation's own privacy policy.
Device sensors (compass/accelerometer) To point the Qibla compass toward the Kaaba as you rotate your phone. Read locally, never leaves your device.
Recitation audio requests To stream or download a reciter's audio when you choose to play or download a surah. Requested directly from the Quranic Universal Library's audio CDN (audio.qurancdn.com). As with any network request, that server sees your device's IP address and which file you requested, the same as visiting any website.
Notifications To show a progress notification while a recitation download is in progress. Local to your device only.

Information stored on your device

Bookmarks, reading position, translation/reciter/theme preferences, downloaded audio files, and cached prayer-time calculations are all stored locally on your device (via Android's app-private storage). None of it is uploaded anywhere, and none of it is accessible to us or to any third party. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.

What the app does not do

Third-party services

The app relies on two external services, each only for the specific purpose above:

Neither is under our control, and each is governed by its own privacy policy and terms.

Children's privacy

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since there are no accounts and no data collection beyond what's described above, there is nothing to collect regardless of the user's age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
